How to Make a Good Matcha – The MA&TCHA Guide

🍵 How to prepare a good matcha – The MA&TCHA guide

Preparing matcha isn't just a drink: it's a little ritual that feels good.

At MA&TCHA, we'll show you how to make perfect matcha every time, whether you're a latte pro or a complete beginner.

What you need:

1 to 2 g of matcha (about 1/2 to 1 tsp)
A bamboo whisk (chasen), a frother or a shaker
A small bowl or a wide cup
About 60 to 70 ml of hot water (not boiling – 70 to 80°C)

But don't stress about starting out, a spoon works too, or a kitchen whisk.

✨ The steps:

1. Sift the matcha

Pass the powder through a small sieve to avoid lumps. This is the key to a smooth, frothy texture.

2. Add hot water

Slowly pour in the water at 70-80°C (definitely not boiling, otherwise your matcha will become bitter).

3. Whip (and have a little fun)

With your whisk, make a quick “W” motion until you obtain a fine, green foam.

No whisk? No problem: a frother or shaker can do the job just fine.

4. Enjoy (as is or as a latte)

You can drink your matcha straight, or add your favorite milk for a smooth and creamy matcha latte.

💚 MA&TCHA Tips

For a latte, oat or almond milk pairs beautifully with the vegetal notes of matcha. We recommend OATLY; we love it, and it's even better without sugar.

You can add a little sweetness (agave syrup, honey, vanilla, etc.) for a milder taste.

In the morning, it gives you a real boost, without the stress of caffeine.

Matcha for everyone

You don't have to be a fit girl, a tea expert, or a Zen monk to love matcha.

At MA&TCHA, we believe it's an inclusive, joyful drink full of good vibes.

And you, where are you in your matcha ritual?
